Inverarity are extremely proud to have represented Santa Ema in Britain since 1999. Over the past 10 years we have seen the quality of the wines go from strength to strength and are constantly amazed at the quality and value across the whole range. Its no surprise that the whole range picks up praise from wine writers and magazines across the world with glowing recommendations and consistently high scores.
Today Santa Ema is still a family owned and run operation but has embraced the modern era with the construction of a state of the art 3.2 million litre winery in the Maipo Valley.
Sauvignon Blanc, Maipo Valley 2010
(86 Points BEST BUY Wine Enthusiast) Wonderfully dry and crisp with intense citrus notes, green apples, pear and a tangy finish which get the taste buds going.
Chardonnay, Casablanca Valley 2009
(87 Points BEST VALUE Wine Spectator)
The cooler Casablanca region is perfect for the production of high quality Chardonnay. Tropical fruits of banana and pineapple dominate in this clean and crisp wine.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Maipo Valley 2009
40% of the wine is aged in French oak for 4-6 months which adds body, complexity and a lovely toasty note to the ripe blackcurrant, plum and raspberry flavoured wine.
Merlot, Cachapoal Valley 2009
Beautifully soft and well rounded wine with ripe red fruits, plum and dried cherry notes. A touch of oak adds a touch of class.
Carmenère Barrel Select, Cachapoal Valley 2008
This epitomises the value and quality which Chile can offer. Superb balance and concentration of black cherries, herbs, spicy black pepper and a touch of chocolate.
We are also now beginning to see the results of Santa Ema’s pursuit of quality in new regions. Amplus Sauvignon Blanc from the Leyda Valley is the first wine available under the Amplus range and has set a new bench mark not only for Santa Ema but also Chile.
Chardonnay Reserve, Casablanca Valley 2009
(80-89 points, Robert Parker). Intense and complex with delicate notes of honey and ripe tropical fruits that recall banana, pineapple, and passion fruit, along with notes of toast and vanilla. Crisp and refreshing with good balance.
Amplus Sauvignon Blanc 2009
( 87 Points, Wine Spectator). A particularly fresh style of Sauvignon which retains all the aromatic green flavours but has a lick of fresh minerals through it. The wine has more weight than you would expect from a Sauvignon but it still elegant and crisp on the finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Maipo Valley 2007
( 90 Points, Wine Spectator). A very serious wine with great tannin structure and a complex, sophisticated palate of black fruits, cherries, tobacco and roasted coffee.
Merlot Reserve, Maipo Valley 2007
(90-95 points, Robert Parker). If you like them big and in your face then this is for you? Loads of ripe black fruits, liquorice, chocolate, coffee and vanilla.
Catalina, Cachapoal Valley 2006
( 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast). A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Cabernet Franc, this is an intense, ripe, and well-structured wine, classic and elegant, with aromas of red fruits, prunes, and cherries that blend with notes of
tobacco and vanilla that lend great complexity.
