Our new house Claret "Lagrange les Tours" comes from a small (20 hectares) vineyard situated in St André de Cubzac, just a few miles north of Fronsac. This blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc offers classic Claret scents and flavours. Amazing value, it has a lovely deep purple colour, offers ripe bramble, spice and cedar on the nose and a super soft, black-fruited, balanced finish.

Classic Bordeaux Sauvignon not too pungent nor too weak. Rich gooseberries and elderflower flavour with green crisp acidity on the finish.

Deep purple/garnet colour, restrained nose, soft elegant palate; blackcurrants, touch of spice, medium bodied.

Nicolas Thienpont is once again running this prominent estate. Hand-picked harvests are immediately followed by harsh selections in order to reach an optimal state of ripeness. The large amount of Semillon along with the vinification techniques give the wine richness and creaminess as well as a good vein of acidity. The complexity of aromas shows through thanks to a careful blend of Muscadelle and Sauvignon Gris grapes. The ageing potential is remarkable.

This is the traditional 'Clairette' where the original name of Claret comes from. Lovely deep pink red in colour, soft, full blackcurrant fruit bursting out. A big Rosé, but combined with elegance and restraint!
